personality

Make it YOU!

The outfits you choose should reflect you, both as an individual, and/or as a couple or family!

Color

Think palettes!

The colors   of your wardrobe play a large part in the outcome of your images. You never want to match exactly, but work with a palette of colors that complement each other and your environment. Typically, selecting a location for your session first will help in guiding you with color choices. As a primarily outdoor photographer, I recommend leaning towards warm, neutral, earthy and rich tones.

texture & pattern

Visual Appeal!

Textures and patterns are important to consider but also be careful with your final decision. Some busy patterns can be too bold and distracting and take away from the subjects (that's YOU!). Textures add dimension and can add visual appeal to your photos like with movement shots! Something like a flowy dress or skirt never disappoints.

Not into dresses? Consider a cute pair of jeans or nice pair of pants with a statement blouse that has a texture like ruffles or bell sleeves, or a soft pattern like florals or simple stripes. Layering with a cardigan, jacket, or chunky sweater also adds visual appeal to your photos!

comfort

Feel good, look good!

Dress for the location, comfort and the season. If we are hiking in a forest for your session, don't wear heels. If we are in a sunny field in the summer, don't wear a thick sweater. Discomfort in your wardrobe can easily lead to physical discomfort, mood changes during your session, and a lack of confidence - and trust me, it shows in your final images.
